Four From 'Roo Women's Water Polo Named All-America

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. - Four members of the Austin College women's water polo team have earned All-America status, the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches has announced. Brooke Le and Lexi Wong were each named first team Division III All-America performers, while Valery Piachonkina and Sophie Oliver were second team selections.

Le, a senior from Flower Mound, wrapped up her career as the CWPA Division III West Most Valuable Player and was a first team All-CWPA selection on her way to earning All-America status. She finished the regular season with 42 goals, and along with Wong, Piachonkina, and Oliver helped lead the team to the national Final Four, where the 'Roos finished third.

Wong, a senior from Lantana, was another first team All-CWPA pick on her way to being named first team All-America. During the regular season, Wong scored a team-best 45 goals and added 29 steals on the year.

Piachonkina, a senior from Castro Valley, Calif., earned second team All-America status after capping off a stellar career as a four-year starter in goal for the 'Roos. Piachonkina was named first team All-CWPA, totaling 119 regular season blocks with a 65% block rate in conference competition, where the 'Roos went unbeaten this season.

Oliver, a senior from Houston, was another second team All-America selection after finishing her three seasons with the 'Roos as a first team All-CWPA performer. The 2021 CWPA Division III Most Valuable Player, this season Oliver tallied 18 goals and added 17 steals during the regular season.
