SHERMAN, Texas – Tony Joe White has been named the new head coach of the Austin College football program, athletics director David Norman has announced. White comes to Sherman after having served in the same role at Birmingham-Southern College since 2017.

Tyler James, John Aldridge, and Max Walstad each earned All-ASC recognition and Jacob Hoffman was honored as part of the Outstanding Sportsman Team of the Year.

SHERMAN, Texas – Loren Dawson has resigned as the head coach of the Austin College football program, athletics director David Norman has announced. Dawson recently completed his 13th season at the helm of ’Roo football in 2022.

SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College football team jumped out to an early lead and maintained that lead through most of their game against Howard Payne on Saturday, but the Yellow Jackets scored with 37 seconds left to hand the 'Roos a 23-20 defeat in the final game of the 2022 campaign. The 'Roos finish the year with a record of 1-9 overall.

ABILENE, Texas - The Austin College football team kept within striking distance of No. 8-ranked Hardin-Simmons for the first three quarters, but the Cowboys pulled away with 10 points in the fourth to make it a 31-3 final in the last road game of the season for the 'Roos. Austin College is now 1-8 overall on the year.

SCAC to Reinstate Football for 2024 Season
SUWANEE, Ga. – In an announcement made today, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference will reinstate the sport of football as an officially sponsored conference sport effective the 2024 playing season. In conjunction with that announcement, the SCAC has offered football affiliate membership to Lyon (Ark.) College, with that partnership also beginning in 2024.
Comeback Bid Falls Short for 'Roo Football
SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College football team outscored visiting Southwestern 22-7 in the last 16 minutes of action, but the comeback bid came up short for the 'Roos in a 40-29 defeat at Jerry Apple Stadium on Homecoming Weekend. The 'Roos are now 1-7 overall and 1-5 in American Southwest Conference play.
