Six From 'Roo Football Named CSC Academic All-District
SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College football players Evan Dennis, Texas Gordon, Ben Meraz, Colin Mushinski, Jarrett Pleasant, and Eliel Sandoval have been selected as Academic All-District picks for their outstanding performances both athletically and academically.
Five From 'Roo Football Earn All-ASC
DALLAS, Texas - Jaylon Talton was named one of three recipients of the American Southwest Freshman of the Year Award and Colton Gerken earned second team All-ASC, as well as being named to the ASC Outstanding Sportsman Team, to highlight five players who earned All-Conference recognition for their play in the 2023 season.

SEGUIN, Texas - The Austin College football team fell behind 15-0 early and was unable to mount a comeback in the team's final game of the 2023 season, as the 'Roos fell 29-10 at Texas Lutheran University on Saturday afternoon to end the year with an overall record of 1-9.
No. 20 Hardin-Simmons Spoils Homecoming for 'Roos
SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College football team fell behind by a touchdown less than a minute in and No. 20-ranked Hardin-Simmons would open the second half with both a kick return for a touchdown and then a punt return for a touchdown, and the 'Roos were unable to keep pace in a 59-19 defeat on Homecoming Weekend. The 'Roos are now 1-8 overall on the year.
'Roos Drop Road Game at McMurry
ABILENE, Texas - The Austin College football team led for most of the first half on the road at McMurry University, but the War Hawks scored 41 unanswered to close out the game, including 35 second half points, to top the 'Roos 51-13 on Saturday afternoon. The 'Roos are now 1-7 overall on the year.
'Roo Football Falls to No. 23 UMHB
SHERMAN, Texas - After jumping on top on the very first play of the game, the Austin College football team saw No. 23-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor scored 49 unanswered before a fourth quarter touchdown made it a 49-14 final on Saturday afternoon at Jerry E. Apple Stadium. The 'Roos are now 1-6 overall on the year.
HPU Uses Big Second Quarter to Top 'Roos
BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Austin College football team led Howard Payne 8-7 early in the second quarter, but the Jackets scored 28 unanswered in the frame to go on top 35-8 at half, and the 'Roos were unable to mount a comeback in a 35-11 defeat on Saturday afternoon.
Sul Ross Tops 'Roo Football
SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College football team came out strong defensively early, but some big plays on special teams and defense led to an early 14-0 lead for Sul Ross and the 'Roos were unable to make up that ground on their way to a 49-7 defeat on Saturday afternoon at Jerry Apple Stadium. The 'Roos are now 1-4 overall on the year.
Early Miscues Prove Costly for 'Roo Football
MARSHALL, Texas - The Austin College football team turned the ball over three times in the opening half on their way to a 21-7 halftime deficit, and the 'Roos were unable to climb out of that hole in the second half in a 35-7 defeat on Saturday evening at East Texas Baptist. The 'Roos are now 1-3 overall and 0-1 in ASC play.
Lowery, Balderas Earn ASC Weekly Honors
SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College football players Dakota Lowery and Caleb Balderas have been named the American Southwest Conference Offensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for their outstanding performance this past Saturday, the league office has announced.
