Tatyana Arizmendi - Swimming
SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo women's swimmer Tatyana Arizmendi.
Arizmendi, a freshman San Antonio, had a huge impact in Austin College's final regular season meet at Centenary, where the 'Roos defeated both the Ladies and the University of St. Thomas, and has quickly established herself as one of the top performers on this year's team.
Arizmendi helped deliver first place points in multiple events, including an individual win in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:05.59, as well as leading off the 'Roo 200 medley relay team in its first place finish, as the quartet of Arizmendi, Lexy Hulse, Joslyn Dimitri, and Sofia Guzman came in with a time of 2:00.23. The same four swimmers also earned first in the 400 free relay with a time of 4:12.42, and Arizmendi added a second place finish in the 200 individual medley, touching with a time of 2:29.91 in the event.
Modern Woodmen of America is proud to recognize and support the ongoing achievements of Austin College student-athletes. Their North Texas Region understands that the pursuit of excellence on and off the field creates a foundation for continued excellence after graduation.
