'Roos Topple Dallas in SCAC Competition

SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College volleyball team earned a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win over the visiting University of Dallas on Tuesday evening, besting the Crusaders 3-1. The 'Roos are now 12-14 overall and 5-6 in conference play with the win.

Austin College took the first two sets by scores of 25-17 and 28-26, and after falling behind 23-16 in the third set rattled off seven straight points to nearly complete a comeback and three-set sweep, but the Crusaders managed to earn a 26-24 win to force set four. Austin College took control in the fourth and, what would prove to be, final set with a 25-16 win to clinch the match. 

Riley Abernethy had a huge match for Austin College with 15 kills and 20 digs, adding two block assists with a .275 attacking percentage. Victoria Smith had 11 kills for the 'Roos, and TJ Folse added nine to go along with three total blocks. Olivia Linton added eight kills, while Madison Manning paced the 'Roos with 22 assists and chipped in eight digs. Brianne Tseng had 18 assists and nine digs, and Tatum Torres paced the 'Roos defensively with 24 digs. Alyssa Holloway also had 13 digs for Austin College in the victory.
