'Roo Volleyball Rallies Past TLU

SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College volleyball team got off to a slow start, dropping their first set against Texas Lutheran 25-15, but the 'Roos won three straight to earn a 3-1 win over the Bulldogs on Friday night to improve to 1-2 overall on the year.

After dropping the first game of the night, Austin College won the next three by scores of 25-17, 25-22, 25-17 to pick up their first win, and they'll be looking to make it two in a row tomorrow morning when they host TLU for another match in Hughey Gym at 9:00 a.m. The 'Roos had nine attacking errors in the first set but settled down after that, with Victoria Smith notching 11 kills while Shelbi Cook and Olivia Linton each had 10 in the victory. 

Cook boasted a .386 attacking percentage and added six total blocks, while Linton had a .346 hitting percentage for the match. Ali Horton led the 'Roos with 26 assists and added eight digs, and Mari Prazak led all players with 25 digs. Brooklyn Talley posted a double-double with 15 assists and 11 digs, and Riley Abernathy added 11 digs in the victory.
