Bowden, Ingle Named All-SCAC

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Austin College volleyball players Rebekah Bowden and Katie Ingle have been named All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference performers for the 2017 season, the league office has announced.

Bowden, a senior middle blocker from Flint, was a second team All-SCAC selection after leading the conference with 1.18 blocks-per-set, which also ranked her among the national leaders in that category. Bowden also finished fourth in the conference with a .329 hitting percentage, and was twice named the SCAC Defensive Player of the Week this season. She also topped 500 career total blocks this year.

Ingle, a senior setter from Allen, was also a second team All-SCAC selection after finishing fourth in the SCAC with an average of 7.53 assists-per-set. She also finished third in the conference with 65 service aces this season and added a .212 hitting percentage. She also surpassed 3,000 career assists this season.

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Association.
