'Roos Swim Well on Day One of SCAC Championships

GARLAND, Texas - The Austin College men's and women's swim teams each put in good performances on the opening day of the 2022 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship Meet on Wednesday, as the meet got underway with a pair of relay events.

The women's team of Liberty Chanin, Sammi Thiele, Chloe Hunt, and Eleanna Martinez took fourth place in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:54.33, and the same quartet added a fourth place finish in the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 8:08.98. The women finished day one of the championships with 74 points, good for fifth place as they head into day two on Thursday.

On the men's side, the 'Roos scored 56 points to put them in sixth place, getting a fourth place finish in the 800 freestyle relay and a sixth place finish in the 200 medley relay, The team of Max Saenz, Charles Stafford, Alex Lai, and Sean Cookson came in with a time of 7:16.10 in the 800 free relay, and the foursome finished with a time of 1:40.63 in the 200 medley relay.
