Women's Soccer Edged by Crusaders

SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 match against the visiting University of Dallas on Saturday evening, bringing the team's record to 0-4-1 overall on the season.

The two teams were scoreless through the first 40 minutes of action, with Dallas breaking through in the 43rd minute off the foot of Maddie Rodriguez on a free kick that found its way inside the right post to make it a 1-0 game at halftime. In the second half, the Crusader lead grew to 2-0 on a finish by Alyssa Mencacci in the 70th minute. Austin College struck back quickly, however, cutting the margin in half when Dajia Campbell headed one in off a corner kick by Hallie Dickerson at the 73:38 mark, but that's as close as the 'Roos would get the rest of the way.

The Crusaders held a 12-to-7 shot advantage in the match, putting nine attempts on goal while Austin College put three shots on frame. Meredith Harris made seven stops in net for Austin College.
