'Roo Women Move Up in D3Hoops and WBCA Rankings

SHERMAN, Texas - After pulling out a pair of wins over Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference foes Southwestern and Texas Lutheran last weekend, the Austin College women's basketball team has jumped up in both the D3Hoops.com and WBCA Top 25 rankings this week.

The 'Roos have moved up to No. 19 in the D3Hoops poll, while coming in at No. 20 in the WBCA poll after being ranked No. 23 in both polls last week. The 'Roos improved to 20-3 overall with their two conference victories last weekend, marking the third straight season the program has notched 20 victories. That's the first time the Austin College women have accomplished that feat since the 1996-97 through 1998-99 seasons.

Austin College wraps up the regular season on the road this weekend, taking on Centenary College in Shreveport on Friday before traveling to Houston to play the University of St. Thomas on Sunday. The following weekend the 'Roos travel to Kerrville for the SCAC Tournament, where they will be the No. 2-seed with a first round bye.
