Men's Water Polo Falls in MPSF Eastern Final

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Austin College men's water polo team dropped a 10-7 decision against Augustana in the MPSF Eastern Final on Sunday afternoon on the campus of USC. The 'Roos wrap up the year with an overall record of 6-15.

The 'Roos took a 2-1 lead in the opening quarter, but Augustana out-paced Austin College 3-1 in the second to grab a 4-3 halftime lead. The margin grew to 7-5 after three quarters, and Augustana expanded the lead to 10-7 in the final frame. Cade Griffith led Austin College with three goals, while Evan Cueva and Jack Stack each scored twice in the loss. Overall, the 'Roos outshot Augustana 34-26 in the game, but Augustana goalie Declan Hunter managed to make 18 stops. Alan Rosenberg had eight blocks and three steals for Austin College.

Cueva chipped in a pair of blocks in the game, and Stack finished with three steals. Dylan McArthur had a pair of assists, and Andrew Galt, Tobias Ward, Gabriel Daniels, and Cueva each added an assist in the loss.
