Men's Tennis Blanks Texas Lutheran

SEGUIN, Texas - The Austin College men's tennis team was dominant in a road victory at Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Texas Lutheran on Saturday, earning a 9-0 victory over the Bulldogs.

The flight one doubles team of Brett O'Brien and Preston Spivey got the ball rolling with an 8-4 victory, and the doubles domination would continue with Calum Robe and Tate Nelson winning 8-3 on line two and Joseph Carrillo and Matthew Cochran blanking their opponent 8-0 at flight three.

O'Brien picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win at line one singles, and Robe continued his stellar day with a 6-0, 6-0 line two victory. Spivey earned a 6-4, 6-1 win at line three, while Nelson earned a first set 6-2 victory before battling for a 7-6 win to clinch the flight four match. Cochran added a 6-2, 6-0 win on line five, and Carrillo rounded out the decisive victory with a 6-0, 6-0 flight six win.

Austin College is back in action on Sunday, when they head to Houston to take on the University of St. Thomas.
