LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Austin College men's soccer player Joseph Khalaf has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league office has announced.

Khalaf, a junior goalkeeper from Sherman, made 10 saves in two matches, including seven in a big 2-1 victory over the University of Texas-Dallas, the defending American Southwest Conference champions. That win was the first for the 'Roos over the Comets since 2005. Khalaf followed up that stellar performance by earning a shared shutout in a 3-0 win against George Fox, making three saves in the first half as the 'Roos built their three goal lead.

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
