'Roo Football Falls at Berry

ROME, Ga. - The Austin College football team hit the road for Georgia to take on Berry College on Saturday, and the Vikings showed why they're the No. 17-ranked team in the nation, handing the 'Roos a 61-0 defeat. The 'Roos are now 1-4 overall and 1-2 in Southern Athletic Association play.

Berry didn't waste much time getting on the board, scoring their first touchdown less than three minutes into the game, and the Vikings made it 13-0 four minutes after that. One more touchdown in the quarter would make it 20-0, and the Vikings found the endzone three more times in the second quarter to lead 41-0 at halftime. Two more scores in the third made it 55-0, and the Vikings tacked on a pair of fourth quarter field goals to make the score 61-0 at the final horn.

Austin College was limited to 127 yards of total offense in the game, while Berry amassed 515. Berry also dominated time of possession by a nearly 2-to-1 margin. Colt Collins completed 7-of-19 passes for 68 yards and two picks, and Evan Powell led the ground game with 29 yards on four carries. Powell also had 53 receiving yards on three catches.
