Trapani Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo baseball player Jake Trapani.

Trapani, a senior from League City, continued his strong senior campaign both on the mound and at the plate as the 'Roos played four games last week against Howard Payne and Texas Lutheran. Trapani batted .308 with a home run, four RBI, and three runs scored during the week, while also throwing 7.0 solid innings in the team's series opener against TLU, giving up two earned runs and scattering six hits in a no-decision. For the year, Trapani, who also plays first base for the 'Roos, is hitting .299 with two homers, five doubles, a triple, and has knocked in a career-high 18 RBI so far this season.

Modern Woodmen of America is proud to recognize and support the ongoing achievements of Austin College student-athletes. Their North Texas Region understands that the pursuit of excellence on and off the field creates a foundation for continued excellence after graduation.
