Today marks the opening of NCAA Division III Week (April 1-April 7, 2024). Division III Week is a positive opportunity for all individuals associated with Division III to observe and celebrate the impact of athletics and of student-athletes on campus. Division III Week was introduced in 2010 to sharpen the division's identity. Division III is a place where student-athletes can "follow your passions and develop your potential," within an approach that combines rigorous academics and competitive sports.

This week we welcome the Austin College Community to join us in celebrating our student-athletes, their contributions to campus, and both their athletic and academic achievements!

Did you know? 

• There are 395 student-athletes participating in varsity athletics, representing on average 35% of our campus community.
• Nearly 20% of our student-athletes have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.   
• In 2022-2023, 171 student-athletes were named Academic All-Conference.
• Division III represents the largest sports consortium in the world with 195,000 student-athletes participating nationally across 430 colleges and universities.
