Salyer Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo tennis player Trey Salyer.

Salyer, a junior from Frisco, picked up his first victory of the season against East Texas Baptist, winning 6-4, 6-2 while playing line one. On Wednesday, he was also named this week's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Male Character & Community Award winner in recognition of his outstanding leadership within the 'Roo tennis program and across campus. In addition to being a part of the tennis team, Salyer is also president of the Austin College Classics Club, and has been a student ambassador for Austin College's S.T.A.T. program, and he's served as the community standards chair, alumni chair, and philanthropy chair for the Zeta Chi Beta fraternity.

Modern Woodmen of America is proud to recognize and support the ongoing achievements of Austin College student-athletes. Their North Texas Region understands that the pursuit of excellence on and off the field creates a foundation for continued excellence after graduation.
