SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College Athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo softball player Lauren Orozco.

Orozco, a freshman outfielder from Carrollton, was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week after a stellar performance at the dish in five games. Orozco blasted three home runs in a three game series against Centenary as the 'Roos swept the Ladies, and hit .500 for the week overall. She added a double, seven RBI, and seven runs scored in five games last week, and currently ranks among the SCAC leaders in batting average, doubles, home runs, on-base percentage, and slugging percentage.
