This Week in 'Roo Athletics

It's a busy weekend in Sherman, as Austin College hosts both the men's and women's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournaments in Hughey Gym. Meanwhile, the 'Roo women's water polo, baseball, softball, and tennis teams are all on the road.

The SCAC Tournaments get underway on Friday, with first round men's games taking place at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. The women's tournament gets started at 5:00 p.m., followed by a 7:00 p.m contest. The Austin College women's team enters the SCAC Tournament as the No. 5-seed, and they'll take on No. 4-seed Schreiner in the 5:00 p.m. game.

Saturday, the SCAC semifinal rounds will be played with the men's side of the bracket at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m., and the women's semifinals at 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Finally, the conference championship games will take place with the men taking the court at noon on Sunday and the women following at 2:00 p.m.

This weekend's SCAC Tournaments will require admission for entry, with a daily admission of $10 for adults aged 18 and over, and $5 for students aged 10-17. Children under 10 will be admitted for free. A daily pass grants access to all games for that day.

Students enrolled at a SCAC member institution will have free entry if they have a valid, current student ID. Austin College faculty and staff can also enter for free with their Austin College ID card.

While the SCAC Championships take place in Sherman, the women's water polo and baseball teams will play on the road on Friday.

The women's water polo team heads out west, taking on Cal Lutheran and Fresno Pacific in Thousand Oaks, Calif., while the baseball team travels to Fort Worth to play Arlington Baptist on Friday evening.

The baseball team will then play a doubleheader against Arlington Baptist on Saturday starting at noon, while the women's water polo team continues its trip in California with games against Long Island and Chapman.

The 'Roo tennis teams head to Clarksville, Arkansas to play Hendrix on Saturday morning and then Ozarks on Sunday at noon.

Finally, the Austin College softball team will play against Simpson in Irving on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., and again on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
