
Five From Women's Water Polo Earn All-CWPA
SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College women's water polo team had five players named All-CWPA Division III honorees for their outstanding play during the 2025 campagin, the league office has announced. Ashley Chand was a first team pick, while Bianca Gallegos and Joslyn Dimitri were named second team and Ashley Easley and Mikhaela Torres were honorable mention selections.
SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College women's water polo team had five players named All-CWPA Division III honorees for their outstanding play during the 2025 campagin, the league office has announced. Ashley Chand was a first team pick, while Bianca Gallegos and Joslyn Dimitri were named second team and Ashley Easley and Mikhaela Torres were honorable mention selections.
Chand, a senior center defender from Southlake, was a first team All-CWPA pick after finishing the season as the team's leader in steals, helping to anchor one of the top defensive units in the conference throughout the season. Chand was also stellar offensively, finishing the regular season with 35 goals, including notching four tallies against both Whittier and Carthage.
Gallegos, a junior center from Albuquerque, N.M., earned her second team All-CWPA accolades following a year in which she led the 'Roos and was among the conference leaders with 48 goals. Gallegos scored at least once in every regular season game, and had a season high seven scores in a home win against Penn State Behrend.
Dimitri, a sophomore utility player from Couer d'Alene, Idaho, was another of the top scorers in the league on her way to being named second team All-CWPA. Dimitri wrapped up the regular season with 38 goals, and like Gallegos scored at least once in every contest, and had a season high six tallies against PSB. She also had five goals against Occidental.
Easley, a sophomore goalie from San Antonio, earned honorable mention accolades after anchoring a stellar defense that limited its opponents to single digits in goals in 10 games this year, including surrendering just 9.25 goals-per-game in CWPA play. Easley led the 'Roos in blocks and was also among the team leaders in steals on the year.
Torres, a sophomore utility player from Cypress, was another honorable mention All-CWPA pick after a year in which she proved to be one of Austin College's most versatile players, padding the stat sheet both offensively and defensively. Torres finished the year with 17 goals, including scoring a season-best four times against Caltech.
