
McGrath, Ross Named ACWPC All-America
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. - Austin College women's water polo players Cory McGrath and Alyssa Ross have earned All-America status, the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches has announced. This is the second straight year that each player has been selected as an All-America performer.
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. - Austin College women's water polo players Cory McGrath and Alyssa Ross have earned All-America status, the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches has announced. This is the second straight year that each player has been selected as an All-America performer.
McGrath, a senior from Flower Mound, was named second team All-America after helping to lead the 'Roos to the NCAA Division III Final Four, where Austin College finished fourth in the nation. This season she paced Austin College offensively with 43 goals on her way to also earning second team All-CWPA recognition. Of those 43 goals, 11 came in the postseason, including 10 in the CWPA Championships.
Ross, a senior from San Jose, Calif., was named honorable mention All-America following a season in which she was named first team All-CWPA and finished the season with 35 goals, including nine scored in the postseason. Ross tallied twice during the Final Four, and found the back of the cage seven times during the CWPA Tournament.
