Women's Water Polo Sweeps Weekend Trip to Pennsylvania

ERIE, Pa. - The Austin College women's water polo team went 4-0 in their weekend trip to Pennsylvania, opening the weekend with a 15-8 win over Grove City, before cruising past Wheaton 22-4 and Penn State Behrend 20-9. The 'Roos wrapped up the weekend with a 15-14 victory over Connecticut College.

The 'Roos got a huge weekend from Cory McGrath, who paced the team with nine goals in the weekend opener against Grove City. McGrath added an assist in the win, while Bianca Gallegos added four goals and Alyssa Ross and Mikhaela Torres each tallied once. 

Austin College used a balanced scoring attack against Wheaton to come away with a 22-4 win, as nine different players scored, led by five goals from Caroline Armstrong. She also added four steals and a pair of assists. Morgan Evans chipped in with four goals and three assists, and Xytali Silkey had three goals and three steals for the 'Roos. Austin College also got two goals apiece from Torres, McGrath, and Gracey Kettler.

Against the host school PSB, the 'Roos got six more goals from McGrath, who continued her torrid scoring weekend in the victory. Joslyn Dimitri added three goals, and Gallegos, Ross, Torres, and Ashley Chand each tallied twice. McKenna Malone and Silkey added one goal each in the victory.

Finally, the 'Roos pulled out a nailbiter against Connecticut College on Sunday morning, with McGrath wrapping up her strong weekend with four more goals to lead the way. Gallegos and Chand both added three scores, and Ross and Dimitri scored twice each. Kylee Noble rounded out the scoring with a goal.
