Women's Water Polo Falls to Brown

SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College women's water polo made history on Saturday, playing the first varsity women's water polo game ever in the state of Texas. The 'Roos hosted Brown University, ranked No. 20 in Division I, falling 16-6 in the game.

Austin College kept it close early, trailing just 5-3 midway through the second quarter, but Brown closed the half with three unanswered goals to head into halftime 9-4. The momentum would stay with Brown into the third quarter, as they blanked the 'Roos 4-0 in the period to build their lead to 13-4, and the margin would grow to 16-4 in the final period before Austin College got two more goals to make it a 16-6 final.

Brooke Le scored three times for Austin College as the 'Roos celebrated Senior Day, while fellow senior Presley Woods also tallied a goal. Maddie Jacks and Sammi Theile each found the net once for the 'Roos.
