Women's Water Polo Cruises Past Wittenberg and Carthage

The 'Roos are now 4-9 overall on the year and perfect in conference play at 4-0.

The 'Roos are now 4-9 overall on the year and perfect in conference play at 4-0.
Austin College sprinted out to a 5-0 lead after the first quarter against Wittenberg, getting two goals from Brooke Le and one apiece from Presley Woods, Madison Taylor, and Lexi Wong. The 'Roos would take an 8-2 lead it halftime, with Wong scoring twice and Maddie Jacks finding the net in the quarter. Austin College was limited to one goal in the third quarter on their way to a 9-4 advantage heading into the fourth, but the 'Roos tallied eight goals in the final frame to run away with the 17-5 victory. Wong finished with five goals and Le added four, while Valery Piachonkina was stellar in the net with 11 saves and six steals for the 'Roos.
Against Carthage, the 'Roos once again dominated early on their way to a 7-1 first quarter lead, with Wong scoring three times in the opening frame. Woods got the scoring going in the second quarter, with Kendall Katusak and Molly Corso each adding a tally as Austin College took a 10-3 lead into halftime. Austin College got two more goals from Wong in the third as they extended the lead to 14-5, and Madison Taylor scored twice in a dominant fourth quarter for the 'Roos to make it a 19-6 final. Wong scored six goals in the game to lead the offensive charge, as seven different Austin College players found the net in the victory.
