'Roo Volleyball Picks Up Big Win Over Tigers
HOUSTON, Texas - The Austin College volleyball team earned a huge victory over preseason Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference favorite Colorado College on Saturday to open up the SCAC Crossover hosted by the University of St. Thomas, coming away with a hard-fought 3-1 win over the Tigers. The 'Roos are now 9-5 overall and 3-1 in conference play.

The 'Roos are now 9-5 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
Austin College took the first set 27-25 before falling 25-16 in set two, but the 'Roos bounced back with a 25-21 win in the third to take a 2-1 lead. The fourth set was a back-and-forth affair that finally saw Austin College emerge on top by a score of 28-26 to clinch the win.
Selah Coleman had a big game for Austin College, pacing the 'Roos with 15 kills and adding 12 digs, while Rachel Sadler posted a double-double of her own with 12 kills and 12 digs. Victoria Larson chipped in eight kills and three block assists, while Samantha Graham had seven kills in the win. Madison Manning had a team-high 19 assists and Katie Riemer added 16, and Laynie Kovacs had 25 digs, 12 assists, and six service aces in the win.
Austin College is back in action on Sunday, taking on St. Thomas at 9:30 a.m. and McMurry at 2:30 p.m.
