Volleyball Splits Final Two Regular Season Matches

AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin College volleyball team split its final two regular season matches of the year, topping Schreiner 3-0 and falling to Texas Lutheran 3-0, bringing the 'Roos to 20-13 overall and 11-4 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play. The 'Roos now head into the SCAC Tournament as one of the top four seasons in the conference.

The 'Roos opened the day with a 26-24, 25-16, 25-18 win over Schreiner to earn their 20th win of the year, hitting .375 as a team, with Rache Sadler's 13 kills pacing the team offensively. Sadler hit .476 in the match, while Mattie Duncan had 12 kills and a .550 hitting percentage, and TJ Folse had 12 kills, 17 digs, and three block assists.

Samantha Graham added seven kills and four block assists, and Jazmyn Kizziar also chipped in seven kills. Madison manning finished the match with 20 assists and 11 digs, while Brianne Tseng added 19 assists in the win and Laynie Kovacs had 12 digs and three service aces.

Austin College dropped its second match of the day against TLU by scores of 25-23, 25-18, 25-23, hitting just .150 as a team compared to .252 for the Bulldogs. Sadler once again paced the 'Roos with 12 kills, and Duncan and Folse each chipped in nine while Fose added 17 digs. Kovacs had a team-best 26 digs, and Manning had 16 assists and 14 digs and Tseng contributed 15 assists.

The 'Roos now turn their attention to hosting the SCAC Tournament on Friday and Saturday, kicking things off on Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. in a rematch with Texas Lutheran.
