'Roo Volleyball Cruises Past Centenary
SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College volleyball team earned its second three-set sweep of Centenary College this season, picking up a 3-0 win over the Ladies on Thursday night in Hughey Gym. The 'Roos are now 15-10 overall and 7-3 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.
SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College volleyball team earned its second three-set sweep of Centenary College this season, picking up a 3-0 win over the Ladies on Thursday night in Hughey Gym. The 'Roos are now 15-10 overall and 7-3 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.
Austin College took the first set 25-14 and the second 25-15, and the 'Roos shut the door on Centenary with a dominant 25-8 third set victory to complete the sweep. Austin College hit .374 as a team in the match, while Centenary finished with a .000 hitting percentage, ending the contest with 22 kills and 22 attacking errors. TJ Folse had 13 kills and a .444 attacking percentage to lead the 'Roos, and also had seven digs, while Rachel Sadler had 10 kills in the win. Samantha Graham and Victoria Larson each had five kills, with Graham chipping in four total blocks while Larson had three, and Laynie Kovacs paced the 'Roos with 16 digs.
Madison Manning led Austin College with 23 assists, adding eight digs and three service aces, while Kat Stein contributed 14 assists and five digs. As a team, Austin College had 43 kills against just nine attacking errors.
