'Roo Volleyball Earns Road Win at UST

HOUSTON, Texas - The Austin College volleyball team picked up a crucial Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victory as the 'Roos jockey for position in the conference tournament, topping the University of St. Thomas 3-1 in a road match on Saturday. Austin College is now 14-10 overall and 6-3 in conference play.

HOUSTON, Texas - The Austin College volleyball team picked up a crucial Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victory as the 'Roos jockey for position in the conference tournament, topping the University of St. Thomas 3-1 in a road match on Saturday. Austin College is now 14-10 overall and 6-3 in conference play.

The 'Roos took the first two sets, winning 25-21 and 25-17, before the Celts bounced back with a 25-18 third set win. Austin College clinched the match in set four, however, closing out UST with a score of 25-12. Rachel Sadler had 11 kills to lead the 'Roos, adding 10 digs, and Mattie Duncan added nine kills and three block assists. Victoria Larson and Samantha Graham each had eight kills, while TJ Folse added seven kills and 10 digs. 

Madison Manning paced the 'Roos with 23 assists and added four service aces and nine digs, and Laynie Kovacs had 26 digs, six service aces, and five assists. Brianne Tseng chipped in 14 assists and 10 digs, and Tatum Torres had 13 digs and three service aces.
