'Roos Drop Pair of SCAC Matches

GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Austin College volleyball team dropped both of its SCAC matches on Saturday on the campus of Southwestern, falling to the host school 3-1 and Texas Lutheran by a score of 3-0.

The 'Roos took the first set against Southwestern 25-23, but the Pirates won the next three by scores of 25-19, 25-14, 25-20 to hand Austin College the loss. Olivia Linton had 11 kills to pace Austin College, and Victoria Smith added 10. Brianna Barch and Jazmyn Kizziar each had eight kills for the 'Roos, with Barch adding six block assists. Chloe Miller had 22 digs for Austin College and Riley Abernethy added 14, while Brianne Tseng had a team-best 22 assists and Madison Manning added 14, along with a pair of service aces.

Against Texas Lutheran, the Bulldogs won in straight sets by scores of 25-15, 25-16, 25-20 to even Austin College's conference record at 3-3 so far this year. The 'Roos hit just .120 as a team, and Abernethy had a team-best seven kills. Cheyenne Dantonio added six, while Linton and Smith had five kills each. Miller once again paced the 'Roos defensively with 14 digs, and Tseng and Manning had 14 and 10 assists, respectively.
