Volleyball Tops St. Thomas in Regular Season Finale

SEGUIN, Texas - The Austin College volleyball team picked up a 3-1 win over the University of St. Thomas as the 'Roos closed out the regular season on Sunday, improving to 20-10 overall and securing the No. 5-seed in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament next weekend.

The 'Roos cruised to a 25-13 win in the opening set and added a 25-18 win in set two before the Celt took the third 21-25. However, Austin College earned the victory in set four with a hardfought 25-23 win to pick up their 20th victory of the season. Olivia Linton had 13 kills to pace Austin College, while Riley Abernethy added 10 in the win. Victoria Smith chipped in nine kills and two total blocks, and Brianne Tseng paced the 'Roos with 17 assists. Brooklyn Talley had 16 assists and nine digs, and Mari Prazak led Austin College with 21 digs in the win. Abernethy had 15 digs to make it a double-double in the stat column for the sophomore outside hitter.
