'Roos Fall Twice in SCAC Competition

GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Austin College volleyball team dropped both of its matches on Saturday in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action, with the 'Roos falling 3-0 to No. 16-ranked Southwestern before dropping a 3-1 match against Schreiner. The 'Roos are 18-6 with the losses.

Against Southwestern, the 'Roos fell in three sets by scores of 18-25, 18-19, 24-26 as they were limited by a team hitting percentage of .092 in the match. Brianna Barch and Riley Abernethy each had seven kills to lead Austin College, with Abernethy also adding 13 digs. Mari Prazak paced the 'Roos in that category, finishing with 17 digs, and Aubree McCune added 16 assists and 11 digs. 

In the second match against Schreiner, the 'Roos took the first set 25-19 before the Mountaineers took three in a row, handing Austin College losses by scores of 21-25, 22-25, 17-25. Olivian Linton had 14 kills for Austin College, and Prazak had 29 digs in the loss. Brooklyn Talley had 23 assists and chipped in six digs, while Mattie Duncan added nine kills in the match. Abernethy had eight kills and nine digs for Austin College.
