'Roo Volleyball Sweeps Home Tri-Match

SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College volleyball team swept Randall University and Howard Payne University on Tuesday night, defeating both visiting teams by scores of 3-0 in Hughey Gym. The 'Roos are now 14-3 overall on the year.

The 'Roos cruised past Randall in three sets by scores of 25-12, 25-13, 25-18 to open the day, boasting a .319 team hitting percentage compared to a .000 hitting percentage for the Saints. TJ Folse led a balanced attack for Austin College with nine kills and Cheyenne Dantonio added seven. Victoria Smith chipped in six kills, and Olivia Linton and Riley Abernethy each had five in the victory. Brooklyn Talley paced the 'Roos with 22 assists and added five digs and two service aces, and Aubree McCune had 17 assists and six digs. Mari Prazak led Austin College with 12 digs in the win.

Against Howard Payne, the 'Roos needed to battle to a 28-26 win in the opening set before taking control in sets two and three, winning by scores of 25-18 and 25-15 to earn the three-set sweep. Mattie Duncan led the way with 11 kills, and Abernethy added 10 kills and 14 digs. Smith chipped in nine kills, and Linton and Dantonio had eight kills apiece. Talley had 20 assists and 12 digs, and McCune again posted a line of 17 assists and six digs. Prazak once again led Austin College in digs, totaling 22 in the match.
