'Roo Volleyball Sweeps Huntingdon and Rust

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - After splitting its two matches on Friday, the Austin College volleyball team swept both of its matches on Saturday as the 'Roos took down Huntingdon and Rust by scores of 3-0. Austin College improves to 8-1 overall on the year with the two victories.

Austin College opened up the day by topping Huntingdon by scores of 25-22, 25-16, 25-22, posting a .291 team hitting percentage in the win. Brianna Barch had 11 kills with zero attacking errors, finishing with a blazing .668 attacking percentage in the victory. Barch also added a pair of solo blocks in the victory. Riley Abernethy added 10 kills and a team-best 14 digs, while Victoria Smith and Olivia Linton each had eight kills. Brooklyn Talley had 21 assists to lead the 'Roos, and Mari Prazak had 10 digs.

The 'Roos dominated Rust in the opening set of the second match of the day, winning 25-4, before finishing off the match with wins of 25-19 and 25-15 in the second and third sets, respectively. Spencer Wynne had eight kills to lead Austin College, and Jazmyn Kizziar added five kills in her collegiate debut. Talley had 11 assists and eight digs, while TJ Folse and Prazak each had eight digs in the win.
