Austin College Volleyball Takes Two from Dallas

IRVING, Texas - The Austin College volleyball team pushed its winning streak to four straight matches on Saturday as the 'Roos picked up a pair of 3-0 wins at the University of Dallas. The 'Roos are now 4-2 overall this season.

In the first match of the day, the 'Roos won by scores of 25-18, 25-21, 25-23 behind a balanced offensive attack. Riley Abernathy led the 'Roos with nine kills and added 15 digs, while Victoria Smith and Shelbi Cook each had seven kills in the victory. Ali Horton recorded a double-double with 17 assists and 13 digs, while Mari Prazak paced the 'Roos defensively with 14 digs. Brooklyn Talley added nine assists, and Spencer Wynne came away with three block assists in the match.

The 'Roos fought off the Crusaders in three tight sets in the second match of the day, picking up wins of 25-23, 25-20, 25-22 to earn the sweep on the day. Smith had a big day at the net with 10 kills and four total blocks, while Olivia Linton added six blocks in the win. Prazak once again led the way with 23 digs, and Abernathy added 11. Horton had 18 assists and five digs, and Hannah Arbaugh chipped in nine digs and a pair of service aces.
