Austin College Tops Texas Lutheran

SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College volleyball team earned its second straight 3-1 win over visiting Texas Lutheran University on Saturday morning, dropping the first set before winning three and a row to even their season record to 2-2.

Austin College went on top 20-18 in the first set before TLU scored five unanswered points, and the Bulldogs would take game one 25-21. However, the 'Roos bounced back with convincing wins of 25-14, 25-8, 25-15 to secure the victory. Caitlin Mahoney and Olivia Linton each had 11 kills for Austin College to pace the 'Roos, and Victoria Smith added seven. The 'Roos got 31 digs from Mari Prazak, with Riley Abernathy adding 14 in the win. 

Ali Horton led the 'Roos with 18 assists and Brooklyn Talley chipped in 15, with Horton adding six digs while Talley had five. Hannah Arbaugh provided eight digs for the 'Roos, while Spencer Wynne and Shelbi Cook each had five total blocks to help lead Austin College defensively. Overall, Austin College had just three attacking errors in the final three sets, after finishing with 11 attacking errors in the first set of the match.
