'Roos Split with TLU and Trinity

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Austin College volleyball team took a 3-1 win over Texas Lutheran before falling 3-0 to Trinity on Friday in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action. The 'Roos are now 12-14 overall and 6-5 in SCAC play.

Against Texas Lutheran, the 'Roos fell 25-12 in the opening set before reeling off three straight wins by scores of 25-23, 25-15, 25-21 to earn the victory. Christine Royalty had 13 kills and four total blocks to lead the way, and Kynleigh Browne added 10 kills and three blocks. Brooklyn Talley had 31 assists, and Mari Prazak paced the 'Roos defensively with 22 digs. The 'Roos also got 17 digs from Hannah Arbaugh and seven kills apiece from Shelbi Cook and Karson Dykes

In the team's second match of the day against Trinity, the nationally-ranked Tigers swept the three sets by scores of 25-19, 25-14, 25-15 as the 'Roos hit just .025 as a team in defeat. Royalty had six kills to lead Austin College, and Cook and Brown each added five. Prazak again led the 'Roos with 11 digs, and Talley had a team best 18 assists.
