LONGVIEW, Texas - The Austin College volleyball team held off LeTourneau University for a 3-2 road victory on Tuesday night, giving head coach Ed Garza the 600th victory of his Austin College career in the process. The 'Roos are now 10-13 overall on the season.
The 'Roos dominated the first two sets of the match, winning by scores of 25-16 and 25-17, but LeTourneau stormed back to even things up with a pair of convincing set victories of their own. The Jackets took set three 25-13 and set four 25-14, but Austin College managed to take care of business in the fifth set with a 15-12 win to clinch the match. Hannah Arbaugh paced Austin College with 14 kills and added 11 digs, and Christine Royalty had 13 kills with a .391 hitting percentage. Mari Prazak led Austin College defensively with 34 digs, and Brooklyn Talley recorded 42 assists and 12 digs. Karson Dykes chipped in 16 digs, and Shelbi Cook had 11 kills in the victory.
