Austin College Drops SCAC Opener at Dallas

IRVING, Texas - The Austin College volleyball team grabbed a two set lead over the University of Dallas, but the Crusaders came from behind to win three straight and hand the 'Roos a 3-2 loss on Tuesday in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference opener for both teams. The 'Roos are now 5-9 overall on the season.

Austin College took set one by a score of 25-21 and followed that up with a 25-19 second set victory, but after the Crusaders battled to take set three 27-25, the 'Roos dropped set four 25-12 and set five 16-14. Christine Royalty led Austin College with 13 kills and added seven block assists, while Bri Williams and Shelbi Cook each added 10 kills in the loss. Brooklyn Talley led the 'Roos with 28 assists and added 16 digs, and Allison Pierce contributed 15 assists and 13 digs. Mari Prazak led Austin College with 28 digs, while Cassidy Watson and Hannah Arbaugh each added 11.
