SHERMAN, Texas –The Austin College volleyball team swept both of its matches on day two of the 23rdAnnual Austin College Classic, topping Millsaps College and Louisiana College in straight sets to improve to 3-1 on the year.
The 'Roos dominated the first set against Millsaps 25-7 to set the tone, finishing out the match with 25-18 and 25-20 victories. Kristen Massey led a balanced attack with eight kills and a .389 hitting percentage, while Mayson Kennon had seven kills and 13 digs. Mari Prazak had a team-best 14 digs, while Brooklyn Talley had a double-double with 12 assists and 11 digs.
In the second match, the 'Roos topped the Wildcats 25-15, 25-20, 25-15 to finish the weekend strong. Kennon had 10 kills and six digs while boasting a .333 hitting percentage, and Massey added 20 kills. Talley and Sam Fawcett each recorded 15 assists, while Kayley LeBlanc had 15 digs to pace the 'Roos. Hannah Arbaugh added 13 digs and a pair of service aces for Austin College.
Next weekend the 'Roos are back in Hughey Gym as they host the 21stAnnual Austin College Classic, and they'll take on Linfield College and Sul Ross State University on Friday, September 7 and East Texas Baptist and McMurry on Saturday, September 8.
