Volleyball Splits on the Road with Centre and Hendrix

CONWAY, Ark. - The Austin College volleyball team cruised to a three set victory over Centre College before falling in a tightly contested five set match at host Hendrix College on Saturday, bringing the team's overall record to 9-2 on the year. The 'Roos topped the Colonels 25-9, 25-18, 25-19 before falling 25-21, 23-25, 25-19, 22-25, 15-17 to the Warriors.

In the opening match of the day for the 'Roos, Mayson Kennon led a balanced attack with eight kills and Dani DeWitt added seven, while Brooke Harris chipped in with six kills. Katie Ingle had a strong all-around match with five kills, 20 assists, and a team-best 11 digs. Tatiana Ferrari had four digs, pushing her past 1,000 digs in her career. Madi McVay, who reached that same milestone last season, added eight digs in the victory.

The 'Roos got nine kills apiece from DeWitt and Ingle in the 3-2 loss to Hendrix, with Ingle also leading the 'Roos with 21 assists and adding 21 digs. McVay had a team-high 22 digs along with 10 assists, and Sam Fawcett added 15 assists in the defeat. Kennon and Kristen Massey each had eight kills, with Massey also recording four block assists.
