'Roos Sweep Day Two of AC Invitational

SHERMAN, Texas – The Austin College volleyball team closed out the 15th Annual Austin College Invitational with a pair of victories over Willamette and Concordia-Texas, finishing the weekend with a 3-1 showing and improving to 7-3 overall this season.

The 'Roos opened the day with a 3-0 sweep of Willamette, winning by scores of 25-22, 25-14, 25-21 behind 11 kills from Madison Lee. Presleigh Watson added nine kills with a .750 hitting percentage in the match, and Katie Ingle had 28 assists for the 'Roos. Madi McVay paced Austin College defensively, registering 10 digs.

Austin College dropped the first set of their match against Concordia 25-16, but bounced back with three dominant sets to earn the 3-1 victory. The 'Roos took set two by a score of 25-16 and followed with 25-18 and 25-16 wins in the final two sets. Lee once again led Austin College with 13 kills, adding six digs, and Dani DeWitt had nine kills. Ingle had 38 assists, while Rebekah Bowden had eight kills and seven total blocks. McVay had 14 digs to lead the 'Roos.

Bowden was selected to the All-Tournament team, along with Kelly Farina (Concordia-Texas), Alex Graff (Cortland), Jessie Koster (Dallas), Lauren Petrisin (Hendrix), Katy Headrick (McMurry), Keana Wash (Rust), Candice Hugi (Sul Ross), Rebecca Floyd (Texas-Tyler), and Kaylen Higa (Willamette).

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
