'Roo Volleyball Sweeps DCC and SAGU on Senior Night

SHERMAN, Texas – The Austin College volleyball team swept both Dallas Christian College and Southwestern Assemblies of God University by scores of 3-0 on Tuesday as the 'Roos celebrated Senior Night for the team's two seniors, Rachel Fusselman and Reygan Holloman. The 'Roos are now 22-14 overall with the victories.

Austin College got out to a hot start against Dallas Christian, winning the first set 25-9 and adding a 25-13 win in set two before holding off a strong third set effort from the Crusaders in a 25-22 win. Rebekah Bowden had eight kills and five total blocks to lead Austin College, and Madison Lee added seven kills in the win. Katie Ingle had 20 assists and six kills, while Fusselman had a team-best 17 digs in the victory. Dani DeWitt chipped in six kills and Presleigh Watson had five as Austin College boasted a .359 hitting percentage in the match.

In the second match of the night, the 'Roos once again got out to a quick start with 25-13 and 25-10 wins in the first two sets, and after falling behind in set three the 'Roos took control late for a 25-20 win. Lee had a team-best eight kills and added four block assists, and Watson finished with seven kills and five total blocks. Ingle had an outstanding all-around match, finishing with 21 assists, 15 digs, and five kills, and Fusselman once again led the way with 20 digs. 

Austin College is on the road for its final four regular season matches of the year, as they head to Shreveport for a quartet of non-conference showdowns.
