Volleyball Hits 20 Wins for 17th Straight Year

The Austin College volleyball team picked up its 20th victory of the year with a 3-1 win over Arlington Baptist College on Thursday night, marking the 17th consecutive season in which the 'Roos have won at least 20 games. Austin College is now 20-11 overall this season with the victory.

Austin College cruised to 25-18 and 25-12 wins in the first two sets before Arlington Baptist won 25-19 in set number three, with the 'Roos fallilng behind 19-9 and unable to battle back to earn the straight set victory. Austin College would regain control in the fourth set, winning 25-18. The 'Roos had several strong performances, including a 12 kill night from Presleigh Watson, while Madi McVay had 11 kills and 13 digs, and also added two service aces.

Rebekah Bowden had seven kills and a team-best seven total blocks, and Madison Lee and Reygan Holloman each had six kills in the win. Chandler Sherman led the 'Roos with 20 assists and Lauren Wulz added 19, and Rachel Fusselman had a match-best 22 digs in the victory.

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
