'Roo Volleyball Falls to Concordia, Tops LeTourneau

The Austin College volleyball team split its two games on Saturday, falling in a tough 3-2 loss to Concordia-Texas before bouncing back with a 3-0 sweep of LeTourneau in Longview. The 'Roos are now 18-9 overall this year.

Austin College fell behind early against CTX, going down 25-18 in set one before bouncing back with a 25-23 set two victory. The 'Roos dropped the third set 25-20 before winning the fourth set 25-23, but Concordia managed to take a 15-8 win in the decisive fifth set. Madi McVay had 12 kills and 13 digs to lead the 'Roos and Presleigh Watson had 10 kills and four total blocks, while Lauren Wulz had 26 assists and Rachel Fusselman had 33 digs.

In the second match against host team LeTourneau, the 'Roos won 25-19, 25-22, and fought hard for a 28-26 third set win behind 11 kills and 10 digs from Madison Lee, who also had three total blocks and two service aces. Watson had 10 blocks and a .500 hitting percentage and added three total blocks, and Chandler Sherman had a team-best 19 assists. Fusselman once again led the 'Roos with 20 digs.
