Volleyball Splits Two on Day One of Rhodes Invitational

The Austin College volleyball team split its first two matches at the Rhodes Invitational on Saturday, falling to East Texas Baptist before topping Maryville. The 'Roos are now 7-5 overall this season and will finish out the tournament today against Rhodes and UT-Tyler.

The 'Roos dropped the first match Saturday to ETBU by a score of 3-0, with Shelby Eaves notching 14 kills to lead Austin College. Reygan Holloman added 10 kills, and Kelsey Klingler had 32 assists. Rachel Fusselman had a team-best 10 digs in the loss.

Against Maryville, the 'Roos fell behind 2-1 before rallying back for a 3-2 victory behind 29 kills from Eaves, who added 14 digs. Klingler again led Austin College with 41 assists, and Fusselman had 22 digs. Alyse Magnuson added 20 digs in the victory.
