'Roo Volleyball Falls to No. 23 Southwestern

The Austin College volleyball team fell in three sets to No. 23-ranked Southwestern University on Sunday in the team's final home match of the season. The 'Roos are now 12-9 overall this season and 2-4 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with the defeat. 

The 'Roos came on strong early before the Pirates took control toward the end of the first set and through the second set, falling by scores of 25-19, 25-16, 25-21 in the match. Ally Ahlberg had a team-best eight kills in the match while Bekah Newberry added six. Kelly McDaniel had 19 assists and 12 digs, and Adrienne Reynolds had a match-high 28 digs. 

Austin College heads out on the road on Tuesday when they face Bacone College at 5:00 p.m. and Southwestern Christian University at 7:00 p.m. 

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
