'Roo Volleyball Sweeps Day One of AC Classic

The Austin College volleyball team swept the first day of the 17th Annual Austin College Classic on Friday, topping Howard Payne and Concordia-Texas each by scores of 3-0 to improve to 3-2 overall this season. 

In the team's first match against HPU, the 'Roos won by scores of 25-17, 25-7, 25-18 with Shelby Eaves registering 12 kills to lead the way. Kelly McDaniel notched 27 assists and Adrienne Reynolds had 21 digs to pace the 'Roos in those respective categories. 

In the final match of the evening, Austin College topped Concordia-Texas by scores of 25-20, 25-18, 25-16 with Eaves once again recording 12 kills while Ally Ahlberg added 10. McDaniel again led the 'Roos with 30 assists and Reynolds had 22 digs in the match. 

The 'Roos take the court three times tomorrow for the second day of the Austin College Classic, taking on Schreiner at 9:00 a.m., Rhodes at 3:00 p.m. and Dallas Christian College at 5:00 p.m.
