'Roo Tennis Falls to St. Thomas
SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College men's and women's tennis teams dropped their home matches against the University of St. Thomas on Sunday morning, with the men falling by a score of 6-1 while the women were edged 4-3 by the Celts.

Trey Salyer picked up the lone point of the day for the 'Roo men, coming out on top in a 6-3, 6-2 singles victory at line one. Patrick Fenner was downed 0-6, 0-6 playing line two, Joel Colunga lost 1-6, 1-6 on line three, and Cruz Rocha suffered a 1-6, 2-6 defeat on line four. The Celts took lines five and six by default.
St. Thomas swept doubles competition, winning line three by default while the team of Salyer and Fenner dropped a 6-1 line one match, and Rocha and Colunga were defeated 6-2 on line two.
On the women's side, Austin College took the point in doubles competition after taking two of three matches, with Emma Davidson and Bailey Standokes winning line two by a score of 6-4 and Karsyn Clouse and Lauren Hofeldt earning a 6-3 line three win. Olivia Sanchez and Natalie Valle dropped their line one match 6-2.
Standokes was bested 3-6, 4-6 on line one in singles competition and Sanchez lost line two by scores of 0-6, 3-6, and St. Thomas added a line three win with Clouse falling 3-6, 2-6. Davidson picked up a line four victory with scores of 6-2, 7-5, and Valle earned a line five win at 6-4, 6-0. However, the Celts managed to clinch the match on line six, as Kaitlin Clasby battled but came up short in a 0-6, 4-6 match.
