'Roo Tennis Falls at McMurry

ABILENE, Texas - The Austin College men's and women's tennis teams dropped their road matches against McMurry University on Sunday, with both teams falling by scores of 9-0 in the non-conference showdown.

On the women's side, the number one doubles team of Gigi Francis and Kylie Imperial battled but came up short in an 8-7 (10-5) defeat, while Bailey Standokes and Elena Aventa fell 8-0 on line two and the 'Roos defaulted number three doubles. Francis was once again topped in a tiebraker in line one singles, dropping the match 3-6 (7-10), 7-5, 0-1.

Standokes fell 5-7, 1-6 on line two, and Tara Tran dropped her line three match by scores of 1-6, 0-6. Aventa was topped in line four action by scores of 2-6, 1-6, and the 'Roos defaulted on lines four and five to make it a 9-0 match final.

For the men, the 'Roos number one doubles team of Luke Henley and Tate Nelson fell 8-0, and Trey Salyer and William Dixon dropped an 8-6 line two match. AJ Wueste and Storm Simonin were bested on line three, falling 8-2.

Henley dropped his line one singles match by scores of 1-6, 2-6, and Nelson fell 3-6, 4-6 playing flight two singles. Salyer fell 1-6, 4-6 on line three, and Dixon lost 3-6, 3-6 on line four. In the flight five singles match, Wueste was topped 1-6, 3-6, and Simonin fell 3-6, 4-6 playing line six singles.
