SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College women's tennis team opened up its home slate of matches with an emphatic win on Friday, topping Concordia-Texas 9-0 to improve to 1-1 on the year.
Austin College swept through doubles action with Diana Carvajalino and Gigi Francis teaming to take an 8-4 win on line one, while Georgia Moore and Katie Seibert took line two doubles by a score of 8-5. Melody Duong and Anna Sergiovanni wrapped things up with an 8-4 victory playing in the number three slot.
Carvajalino claimed the victory in line one singles as well, winning 6-3, 6-3, while Duong picked up a 6-1, 6-4 win at number two singles. Sergiovanni remained unbeaten on the year with an easy 6-0, 6-2 win at line three, and Moore took a 6-3, 6-1 victory playing number four singles. Seibert and Francis wrapped up the clean sweep at lines five and six, respectively, with Seibert winning 6-2, 6-3 and Francis earning a 6-1, 6-4 win.
