Women's Tennis Unblemished Through Two on Day 1 of Spring Break

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Women's Tennis Team rolled to two decisive victories over tough opponents on Day 1 of Spring Break; 7-2 over Oglethorpe University and 8-1 over Ohio Wesleyan University.

  In the morning match against the Stormy Petrels, Women's Tennis claimed a lead after doubles with Melody Duong and Diana Carvajalino winning 8-5 at Line 1, and the tandem of Anna Sergiovanni and Chandler Morris narrowly snatching victory at Line 2 8-7 (7-4).  The Kangaroos followed their success in doubles by winning 5 of 6 singles courts over their former SCAC, now SAA opponent, taking Lines 1-5.

  The 'Roos then traveled to the new home of United States Tennis at the USTA National Campus and claimed 8 of 9 matches over the Battling Bishops from Ohio Wesleyan.  AC paved the way for success by sweeping doubles 3-0, and taking Lines 2-6, with Chandler Morris and Katie Seibert both claiming Super-Tiebreakers after splitting their first and second sets with their NCAC opponents.

  Austin College travels to Lakeland, Florida tomorrow to face the Women's Tennis Team from the US Naval Academy.  The program's first Division 1 match against a Service Institution will begin at 12:00PM at the Kelly Recreation Center on courts 1-6.
